Happy 2007, Everyone! Hope you all had a nice long weekend and are ready for a fun year! We celebrated the new year with my sister A-shing's arrival on Saturday. We took her to Beipu, an old Hakka town nearby, where we had a nice vegetarian Hakka lunch, DIY (Do-It-Yourself... by the way, DIY is a popular term in Taiwan) old-fasioned "pestle" tea, and a nice hike in a mountain filled with citrus orchards, where we bought some great varieties of citrus. On Sunday, we went to Tai-an (Miaoli County, an hours south of Hsinchu) for a hotspring treat. The place was beautiful and modern, though with the holiday it was a bit too crowded for a real relaxing soak. For some reason, Noah loved the cold pools and wanted to stay in there forever. The three adults took turns watching the kids and going to the spa area for some water massages. Today, we stayed around to prepare for the move tomorrow.. yes, hopefully we can move down to the second floor by tomorrow. They've been doing renovation work in some of the units and we have had to endure horrific noises daily. Well, let's hope at least the new unit will be nice enough for us to make it worthwhile.
BTW, my sister went crazy today while we shopped during the kids' nap. Everything is so much more fasionable and fits so well that she bought a bunch of cute stuff including boots and a miniskirt. Wait until we go shopping in Taipei... have to be careful here with our wallet. I can see that if I live in Taiwan, I would be at least one notch higher in my fashion level!
