The past month has been super busy and at times stressful, with paper deadlines, job application, talks, and weekends filled with activities and visitors. And on top of that there is sickness at least in two of us. I am praying for a calmer November.
In the midst of all this eventfulness, it's the kids' words that help me slow down and giggle or have a truly good laugh.
Some highlights in verbatim:
Ben: So mommy, we don't learn anything at Hoya Kids, right? Only Noah is learning at his school because he is in elementary school.
Syl: Oh sure you are learning.
Noah: You are learning a lot.
Ben: ... I think we are learning to be good...
Syl: (chuckles)
Ben: When we fight, we learn not to fight...
--
Ben's got some badly swollen nodes along his neck. Paul was explaining to him how our lymph nodes function to help our body fight off the germs that made us sick. He helped Ben feel his nodes and told explained that those bumps hold germs and with his antibiotic medicine, the balls will shrink and go away and he'll get better.
After some thinking, Ben: "Daddy I think I have two of these balls around my jiji"...
Yes, you are right, "Jiji" is Chinese for penis.
Isn't this such a classic? You've got to love my child for his analogizing ability. And no, the medicine will NOT (hopefully not!) make THOSE balls go away. Paul said, "You need THOSE balls to be a Daddy some day!"
